TCEP is The Best Emergency Information in Topanga!

For wildfire, earthquakes and emergency prep, the Topanga Coalition for Emergency Preparedness (TCEP) is the most reliable source of information in the Canyon. For close to three decades, TCEP has provided emergency preparedness education and disaster status information to residents of Topanga, Malibu and surrounding areas. Yes, these are the folks you want to know in case of an emergency. With First Aid skills, amateur radio training and other basic survival skills, TCEP volunteers are uniquely qualified to offer accurate and potentially life-saving information to Topanga residents in the event of a wildfire, flood or earthquake. (To learn more about emergencies and wildfire survival in Topanga, go to tcep.org) TCEP History — TCEP is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization based in Topanga, California. Pat MacNeil, Gabrielle Lamirand and Vic Richards started TCEP after the Old Topanga arson fire swept through the Canyon in 1993. Since then, it has grown into a well-respected, highly organized and essential part of the community interacting with county and state agencies in times of emergencies to keep Topanga informed and safe. TCEP Help — TCEP also helped develop the Topanga Survival Guide. Download your copy of the Survival Guide under RESOURCES at TCEP.org. TCEP also operates the local Emergency Operations Center (EOC) that is prepared to communicate with the various governmental departments during a natural disaster or local emergency. The EOC also has a busy hotline at (310) 455-3000 and a state-of-the-art Website at tcep.org where regular updates can be found. Contact info@tcep.org if you would like to volunteer.
