TAC Short-Play Festival 2023, Part 2
Those of you who joined Topanga Actors Company (TAC) for the first weekend of the Short-Play Festival (November 4 & 5) have already sampled the results of a playwriting competition that attracted over 400 entries.
The good news is the festival is far from over. Part Two kicks off on November 18 & 19 with a fresh set of plays that are just as original and engaging as the plays in Part One. We wish we could pass on the many responses of playwrights to being included in the festival but here’s a couple of samples: “Hello! This is incredible news!†from a playwright in his twenties who told us he has never had his work put on before; and, “Oh, yay! I love this little play and, yes, it’s pretty rude and timely,†from a playwright who confesses her inspiration includes some pretty eminent media professionals (unnamed).
We’ve had plays sent by published authors, poets and TV producers. Some have won prizes; for others this is the first time their play has had an audience.
