Learn about the many essential services offered year-round by the TTC but especially during the upcoming holidays. Since Topanga is not its own city, we rely on the county for support, but sometimes, that isn’t enough. Take advantage of the many volunteer opportunities to join others who serve our community by donating money and a few hours of your time now and year-round. Visit onetopanga.org. Thanks and Giving Whether it’s hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for seniors, a special reach-out to the homeless, celebratory gatherings for our dedicated volunteers, the Community Swap Meet and Chili Cook-off, or holiday performances by our kids — November has always been a time for conviviality and heartfelt acknowledgment in our community. We give thanks and appreciation to all Topangans — residents, neighbors, business owners, teachers, children, artists, musicians, healers, workers, and volunteers who help make our town a great place to call home.
Giving Tuesday is Nov. 28
Topanga needs your generosity and support all the time but especially on this global day of giving on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It’s an opportunity to transform your community through volunteering to the many nonprofits in Topanga that offer essential services — from free and low-cost programs for young and old, to protecting our beautiful natural surroundings, to cleaning our boulevard and creek, to disaster preparedness and response. It takes money to keep these and other worthwhile programs in place. Any dollar amount will go a long way to help.
Donations of money and time help keep these critical volunteer services in operation. So, please give thanks to those who keep Topanga safer, more beautiful, and a better place to call home. By donating your time, you can help water baby oaks, assist with after-school programs for children, patrol Topanga with Arson Watch on high fire-risk days, count frogs in the creek with the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains (RCDSMM), volunteer in our arts community, help with community meetings (such as TTC), and more.
