Open Call for Music Video, March 20
The Resource Conservation District of the Santa Mountains (RCDSMM) is calling for volunteer singers and dancers to participate in the filming of “Re-imagine Topanga Lagoon,” a music video about climate change. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., this Sunday, March 20.
People are asked to meet at the Topanga Beach picnic tables at 9 a.m. sharp. Wear bright-colored regular beach clothes. Please, no visible commercial logos but organizational logos and uniforms are okay. Wear layers for cool mornings. To participate contact akahler@rcdsmm.org.
The story: A Tongva Elder and Child will initiate the song about how the lagoon has changed over time. As the song continues, more people join the circle, with a Steelhead and Sea Gull characters connecting each person together with yarn for a circle dance.
The song, “Round and Round and Round It Goes,” is written by Peter Alsop and will be the soundtrack for the video.
