Secrets to Sustainable Gardening

The Canyon Sages invite you to attend the second in a series of presentations, and now the first meeting of the Canyon Sages Gardening Club, exploring secrets to sustainable gardening in Topanga on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1-2:30 p.m., at the Community House Sages Room. In this presentation, Sarah Priest will be sharing insights into fall planting using sustainably sourced native plants and seeds. Also on the agenda is a look into what foods nourished the indigenous first people and the settlers who came later, and how to incorporate pollinators, bloomers, and fragrant herbs into your Topanga garden sanctuary. “The Sages Garden Club will hold hands-on workshops and offers a first chance to become a founding member and contribute to the topics most exciting to gardeners. Explore workshops in hillside management, drought tolerant planting, garden tours, micro-greens, landscaping with rocks, pruning, garden gifts, composting and other workshops. Bring your own ideas and expertise to this new community of Topanga garden lovers. All are welcome! The Topanga Community Center is located at 1440 N.Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga, CA 90290; (310) 455-1980. For more information: sarah@sarahpriest.com.
