Dearest Friends,
It’s been an extremely difficult year for all of us, and we are so pleased that, despite all the complications and setbacks, we were still able to deliver quality Arts education to more than 650 students through distance learning. Our amazing teaching artists adapted quickly to provide classes. online and to support our students with socio-emotional needs as the pandemic changed day-to-day life. We know from our more than 36 years of service to the community that the Arts are the key to transforming lives. We know because we have seen it in action. Now, more than ever, our children need the Arts to cope with the complexities and disparities that COVID has brought to light. We are moving into an unpredictable time due to the pandemic.
As we plan for City Hearts’ future, we are delighted to introduce you to our new Executive Director, Stephanie Denise Silberman. She brings an extensive background and experience to City Hearts. Bob and I are so happy to see how the organization will grow under her guidance and leadership.
“We ask for your continued support and care, to keep City Hearts kids in your hearts, and to help us make a difference in the lives of so many children who are still struggling from the effects of the pandemic. We need your help now, or an entire generation will be set back. Thank you for your care, dedication, and love over the years.”
—Sherry & Bob Jason, Founders
“Thank you for your unwavering support through an unprecedented year. As a young woman of color, I am honored to continue the legacy that Sherry and Bob have created. After spending over a decade working in arts education, I have no doubt that the arts can transform lives. We see this in the daily work at City Hearts. The arts provide a platform for critical thinking skills, confidence, creativity, healing, and perseverance. Through the arts, we are able to provide meaningful support for our students through these difficult times. I know that this is only possible because of caring community members like you. I look forward to working with you to provide a better future for as many students as we can reach.”
