On Tuesday, April 13, at 6 p.m., the Loose Lips Poetry Series will reconvene virtually for its quarterly poetry reading featuring poets Anita S. Pulier and Frank Mundo. Held on WebEx through the support of the Topanga Library, a link and information about attending the reading will be posted on the library’s website Calendar: https://lacountylibrary.org/topanga-library/ Past featured readers for Loose Lips have included Luivette Resto, Ricardo Means Ybarra, Michelle Bitting, Ellen Reich, Julayne Lee, Elena Karina Byrne, Mary Kay Rummel, Phil Taggart, Marsha de la O, John FitzGerald, �ngel García, Laurel Ann Bogen, Florence Weinberger, and Enid Osborn. Anita S. Pulier’s chapbooks, “Perfect Diet,� “The Lovely Mundane,� and “Sounds of Morning,� and her book, “The Butcher’s Diamond,� were published by Finishing Line Press. Her second full-length book, “Toast,� was released in February this year. Anita’s poems have appeared both online and in print in many journals, including riverbabble, Fjords, Evening Street Review, Cultural Weekly, LA Times, Askew, Linnet’s Wings, Oberon, Avalon Literary Review, Extracts Daily Dose of Lit, The Buddist Poetry Review and Spillway. Anita’s work is included in six anthologies, and she has been the featured poet several times on The Writer’s Almanac. Frank Mundo is a poet and writer in Rancho Cucamonga, California, where he lives with his wife, Nancy, and their twin three-year-olds. He has a BA in English from UCLA, where he also completed the creative writing program. Frank is the author of a novel in verse, “The Brubury Tales� (foreword by Carolyn See), a modern version of the “Canterbury Tales� set in Los Angeles. Frank’s first poetry chapbook. “Touched by an Anglo,� was published by Kattywompus Press in 2017. For 14 years, Frank Mundo worked as a graveyard-shift security guard in Los Angeles, a job which allowed him to write and publish hundreds of stories, essays, and poems. Loose Lips readings have received nearly twenty matching grants from Poets & Writers, a high honor for the series, which is dedicated to bringing a diverse array of the best contemporary poets to Topanga and to provide authors and audiences (near and far) with a poetic forum and community, delivering literary events which are edgy, spiritual, inspiring, and at times irreverent.
