The doors to the Topanga Public Library opened on May 10 to a limited 75% capacity inside. “What this looks like inside the library is one chair per table (this is all of the seating available) and use of about half of our computers to allow for social distancing,” said Library Manager Ashley Adams. “You can browse the stacks, use the computer for one hour (a change from our initial two-hour computer use to ensure that we give everyone the opportunity to use the computers available), as well as printing, copying, and reference services. For people who prefer not to come inside the library and want to encounter as few people as possible, “Sidewalk Service” is available for one hour before opening for in-person services each day. Sidewalk Service will be available throughout the day as well, reserved for those who might not want to encounter foot traffic before the library opens. Special Sidewalk Service Hours are available, upon request only, Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10-11 a.m. and Tuesday: 12-1 p.m. The library hopes to offer outdoor programming for children soon but for the time being, the meeting room and study room are not available. The Friends of the Library are also not back yet and won’t have books for sale until it reopens. In-Person hours: Monday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday: 1-8 p.m. Wednesday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information: lacountylibrary.org/reopening; (310) 455-3480; LACountyLibrary.org; @LACountyLibrary 122 N.
