Mercury retrograde winds down, Venus and Jupiter bring a bounty of blessings, and a Super Full Moon guarantees dramatic culminations. June’s got a lot going on, but in the final tally, it leans toward the positive. That is until the last week when we’ll begin to feel the rumblings of the July 1st battle between Mars and Pluto. June opens with Mercury in its final days of retrograde. The mischievous messenger stations to go direct on June 3rd in the sign of Taurus. It’s a good time to make the most of what this retrograde offered, the opportunity to transform ideas into concrete actions. That’s because Mercury moved backward from air sign Gemini into earth sign Taurus. All Mercury retrogrades this year will go from air signs into earth signs, providing plenty of opportunities to ground our plans. For better or worse, retrograde energy doesn’t end when the planet turns direct. There’s a period of time before and after, known as the shadow, and the retrograde isn’t fully complete until that final shadow is cleared. The first shadow period starts before the retrograde when the planet covers territory it will move back over when it reverses course. Then comes the actual retrograde period. The final shadow happens when the planet moves for the third time over the same territory. We’ll be experiencing this period from June 3rd through June 18th. Many of us will notice that issues we thought were handled come to our attention one last time for further tweaking. On June 11th, Venus, the planet of love, money, and beauty, will connect with Uranus, the planet of unexpected change, in Taurus. Venus rules Taurus, so she’s strong in this sign. Expect the unexpected in the Taurus area of your chart. New love? An unexpected raise? Artistic inspiration? A new diet regime? It’s hard to predict when Uranus is involved, but the changes that happen around this time should be wonderful, a true bright spot in the month. There’s a Super Full Moon in Sagittarius on June 14th. The Super Moon gives extra power to this lunation, so effects will be bigger and last longer. Full Moons bring culminations, so check out where Sagittarius falls in your chart to get insight into where you’ll be most dramatically affected. During this event, the Moon and the Sun are making a difficult aspect to Neptune, a planet that can represent confusion and deception. Don’t be surprised if there’s a serious misunderstanding of some kind, possibly resulting in an ending. All eyes return to Venus on June 22nd when she moves from Taurus into Gemini. The desire for open communication and intellectual connection will be strong. If a new love started on the 11th, expect the relationship to move into the getting-to-know you phase while the Goddess transits through social butterfly, Gemini. Will this love last? Only time, and lots of talking, will tell. While in Gemini, Venus also makes a harmonious aspect to Jupiter in Aries on June 28th. When the planet of love and money connects with the planet of good luck and blessings, we can expect positive happenings in our Gemini and Aries houses. Venus and Jupiter are the most positive planets in our sky, so when they hold hands, good things happen. And we’re going to need all the positive vibes we can get, as we prepare for July 1st. Even though the Mars square with Pluto occurs in July, we’ll start feeling the rumblings during the last week of June. Pluto, the god of the underworld, making a difficult aspect with Mars, the god of war, will undoubtedly bring up difficult energy, probably in the form of power struggles. As the end of the month approaches, we all need to think before we speak, remember to take deep belly breaths, and remind ourselves that this too will pass. June delivers mixed energy, but those Venutian vibes should steal the show making it an overall wonderful month. And while early July will be challenging, we can store up strength during June’s beautiful union of Venus and Jupiter. Set some good stuff in motion this month and trust that moving forward everything’s going to be just fine.
