Topanga Actors Company is the Canyon’s very own repertory Reader’s Theater group. Founded in the Fall of 2015 by Judith Hendra and Paula LaBrot, they have consistently produced high quality productions for the pleasure of the community. Their mission is to bring contemporary theater to the Canyon and nurture a fellowship of actors and directors that can work with and learn from each other while sharpening their skills. TAC strives to increase contemporary theater literacy in their audiences right here at home. It’s productions are not the usual Reader’s Theater format. Actors have full freedom of movement, scenes are blocked, actors are costumed, there are music and sound effects. TAC has found that, due to the attention span of the modern audience, there needs to be a more dynamic presentation of a play than people just standing and reading. “We are constantly amazed at how the actors manage to hold the script and perform full stop!�
