Fire Updates
A few more details came in from 69 Bravo for both the Tuna and Las Flores fires after The Canyon Chronicle went to press for the July 23 issue.
Tuna Fire 69 Bravo, July 9—Over a three-hour period, 69 Bravo’s pumpkins and helipads provided more than 72 water extractions of more than 42,000 gallons to contain the Tuna fire to six acres.
Las Flores Fire—Two-hundred ground crews and five helicopters, among them the Chinook 47 and two Fire Hawks, took out more than 41,000 gallons of water from 69 Bravo in the first two hours.
“That is an amazing statistic,” said Simon T, 69 Bravo’s benefactor. “The Fire Fighters did a phenomenal job of getting the fire under control so quickly.”
