The Topanga Community Center (TCC) has been named as a finalist in the 27th District’s 2021 Non-Profit of the Year Award. In an email to TCC President Kelly Rockwell, State Senator Henry Stern congratulated the TCC, saying, “I wanted to reach out to you personally to thank you for your service and for the work that you do for the 27th District. Your efforts in creating community and supporting those in our District is greatly appreciated. The Topanga community benefits greatly from your community events and your tireless efforts to keep the community united even during the toughest times.†“It’s an honor to be recognized by State Senator Stern’s office for the work we have been doing for the community,†Rockwell said. “The TCC leadership and volunteers worked tirelessly in 2020 to keep our canyon connected in creative new ways. Thanks to strong partnerships, our groups like Canyon Sages and Topanga Youth Services were able to offer programming despite our limitations. We’ll keep striving to build our community no matter what, but we are sure happy someone has noticed how hard we’ve been working!†Stern announced they will hold a Non-Profit of the Year Recognition Awards Summit on July 28, at 4 p.m. to honor and share the stories of our community leaders who strengthen and support our community. Senator Henry Stern (Henry.Stern@sen.ca.gov) represents CA District 27.
