Book Talk with Kenneth Miller & the Mysteries of Sleep

October 27, 2023 The second Book Talk event featured Kenneth Miller, author of “Mapping the Darkness,” who gave an informative, entertaining, energetic talk about the mysteries of sleep. In the book he spotlights four scientists who were trailblazers in the quest to understand the uncharted depths of our sleep. He shared in-depth research about what lurks in the darkness of night and what we can do to ensure a restorative slumber. He talked about the many societal attitudes and changes that have led up to what is a sleep-deprived epidemic, especially among young people. He also shed light on what we can do to get the best results, as well as activities that will interfere with a good rest. The Book Talk format is an interview moderated by Linda Ballou spotlighting the author, a five-minute reading by the author, followed by opening the floor to Q&A with the audience. All in attendance were enthralled by the information Ken shared and had lots of burning questions about the path to sweet dreams. If you missed the talk, “Mapping the Darkness,” is available wherever books are sold. The next Book Talk will be in January 2024 (Date TBA).
