Above & Beyond the Call

Above & Beyond the Call

The day of the Owen fire, Rebecca Goldfarb and her friend, Taryn, decided to go to the General Store in Topanga “to buy a bunch of stuff for the firefighters deployed on Santa Maria during the Owen fire (Wednesday, July 26). We were shopping for large quantities of items which caught the eyes of the owners. We told them it was for the firefighters and they, without hesitation, said everything was free and expressed their gratitude for the firefighters. Then we went to find the firefighters and took these photos of all the trucks and firefighters on Viewridge right after mop up. They were exhausted, dirty and starving. They ate dinner and loved their treats. Taryn wrote “thank you” notes and handed them to each person (there were at least 40 people). “We want Topangans to know that our General Store is awesome … and of course so are the LACoFD firefighters!” Then we went to find the firefighters and took these photos of all the trucks and firefighters on Viewridge right after mop up.
