On November 5, at their first in-person meeting since the pandemic began, 5G Free California presented members with local strategies to stop the roll out of 5G cell towers in Topanga and surrounding communities. Among the strategies discussed were a How-to Guide to challenge ongoing installations taking place in Topanga. Among actions taken were a letter to Supervisor Sheila Kuehl signed by 100 Topanga residents and 30 business leaders; an update on the lawsuit status and ADA identification needs; Malibu Ordinance status; and funding needs. Virtual Public Hearing: Members were also asked to attend The Board of Supervisors virtual public hearing on Tuesday, November 24 at 9:30 a.m., on a “Proposed update to the Santa Monica Mountains North Area Plan and Community Standards District to address community concerns, strengthen environmental resource policies, identify standards that support the region’s rural and semi-rural character, and more closely align regulations with the Santa Monica Mountains Local Coastal Plan.
